Getting Started
Understanding Atlas Alert
What is Atlas Alert?
Atlas Alert is an AI-powered equine monitoring platform that combines connected stall cameras, live viewing, notifications, and horse-focused insights in one system.
Who is Atlas Alert designed for?
Atlas Alert is designed for individual horse owners, trainers, barn managers, breeders, boarding facilities, veterinary teams, and larger equine operations that want an added layer of awareness when they cannot be physically present.
Does Atlas Alert replace a veterinarian or barn staff?
No. Atlas Alert is a monitoring and information tool. It does not diagnose medical conditions, replace veterinary care, or replace responsible human supervision. Contact a veterinarian whenever you are concerned about a horse’s health or safety.
Can I use Atlas Alert for more than one horse?
Yes. Atlas Alert is designed to support multiple horses and cameras. Each horse can be organized within your account so you can view the appropriate camera and related information.
Can barns and larger facilities use Atlas Alert?
Yes. Atlas Alert can be used in private barns, boarding facilities, breeding operations, training barns, and other multi-stall environments. Contact our team for larger installations and custom pricing.
Monitoring & Alerts
How monitoring works
What does Atlas Alert monitor?
Atlas Alert is built to help monitor horse behavior and important stall activity. Available features include live viewing, movement and behavior observations, water activity, hay and feed activity, manure-related insights, stall conditions, foaling-related events, and other horse-focused notifications.
Can Atlas Alert detect colic?
Atlas Alert may identify behaviors or changes that can be associated with discomfort or colic and may notify you when something appears unusual. It does not diagnose colic and cannot guarantee that every event will be detected. Always evaluate the horse and contact a veterinarian when appropriate.
How are alerts delivered?
Alerts will be delivered through the Atlas Alert mobile application. Optional SMS and phone call alerts may also be available for selected horse health and safety events when enabled in the app. Additionally, during the setup process you will be opted in to setup a secondary contact as well as a 24/7 vet of your choice so they can get alerted as well if the primary user does not acknowledge the alerts.
Will I receive too many alerts?
Atlas Alert is designed to focus on meaningful events rather than sending constant notifications. Alert availability, sensitivity, and settings may vary by feature. You can manage supported notification preferences inside your account or app.
Can I watch my horse live?
Yes. An active Atlas Alert setup allows you to view the supported camera’s livestream through the Atlas Alert app when the camera and internet connection are online.
Does Atlas Alert record continuously?
Atlas Alert only records when alerts happen. If Atlas Alert deems a specific situation as an alert then either pictures or video footage will be recorded and stored in the "Alert" section of the mobile app.
What happens if the camera loses internet?
Cloud-based monitoring, livestream access, and remote alerts require an active internet connection. If connectivity is interrupted, those features may be delayed or unavailable until the connection is restored.
Installation & Connectivity
Setup and internet requirements
Where should the camera be installed?
The camera should be positioned inside or directly toward the stall so it has a clear view of the horse and the areas relevant to the features you use. Avoid blocked views, severe glare, and locations where the horse can easily reach or damage the equipment. For an example of a perfectly placed camera go to the top of this FAQ section to see a demo picture of a properly placed Atlas Alert camera.
Do I need Wi-Fi?
Yes. Atlas Alert requires reliable internet connectivity for remote viewing, cloud processing, and alerts. Barns with weak coverage may need an outdoor mesh system, access point, wireless bridge, or other network upgrade.
How strong should the barn internet connection be?
The connection should be stable at every camera location. Actual bandwidth requirements depend on the number of cameras and network conditions. For multi-camera barns, contact our team so we can help evaluate the setup.
Can Atlas Alert work with a mesh Wi-Fi system?
Yes, when the mesh system provides a stable connection at the camera location. Outdoor-rated mesh units or properly installed access points are often useful in barns and larger properties.
Can I install the camera myself?
Majority of our customers can complete the physical installation and app setup themselves. Larger barns, unusual network layouts, or weak internet coverage may benefit from professional installation or support from our team.
What happens during a power outage?
The camera and network equipment require power. During an outage, monitoring and remote access may stop unless your equipment is connected to a suitable backup-power system.
Subscriptions & Billing
Membership and billing
Is a subscription required?
An active subscription is required for Atlas Alert AI monitoring and supported subscription features. Hardware ownership alone does not include continued access to all AI, cloud, alert, and app services.
How often will I be billed?
Billing frequency depends on the plan selected at checkout. Available options may include recurring monthly billing or prepaid billing periods.
Does the subscription renew automatically?
Yes, recurring subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled, unless the checkout terms for a specific plan state otherwise.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. You may cancel according to the Atlas Alert Subscription Policy. Cancellation prevents future renewals but generally does not reverse charges that were already processed, except where required by law or stated in a written promotion.
Can I change the number of horses or cameras on my plan?
Plan changes may be available depending on your account and billing setup. Contact support for help adding or removing cameras, horses, or subscription coverage.
What happens if my payment fails?
We may retry the payment or ask you to update your billing method. Subscription features may be paused or limited if payment remains unsuccessful.

What is not covered by the warranty?
The limited warranty generally does not cover accidental damage, misuse, neglect, improper installation, unauthorized modification, normal cosmetic wear, or damage caused by events such as fire, flooding, lightning, or power surges. Review the Warranty Policy for complete terms.
